Ralph & Co Review- Luxury Dog Bed
My boys do love a cosy bed and a fluffy blanket! Whippets are the ultimate sleepy heads, usually found wrapped up and snoozing, so were the obvious choice to test out the comfort and luxury status of the beautiful Ralph & Co nest dog bed. Here is our Ralph & Co review.
About the testers:
Bed and blanket testing is stringent at our house. Every bed or blanket entering the home gets tested very quickly, for safety first of course- and then for comfort. The testers in question are two elderly gents (11 and 12years old) who demand warmth and comfort of the luxury standard. Our whippets are true to their breed. Bedding needs to be of the highest quality to pass their testing standards.
The Nest Bed:
We chose the Balmoral nest bed for many reasons. Firstly, the Dog nest bed comes in a number of fabrics- all of which are stylish and will look good in your home- we went for the classy herringbone. We also loved the shape (more about this later) and the cosiness of the style. When the bed arrived, I was impressed by how well made, sturdy, strong and luxurious it really was. It was a matter of minutes before whippet testing started!
The fur is deep and super-soft- my boys are very fussy with softness and it most definitely passed their stringent testing. We have an arthritic whippy, so a really supportive but soft bed is vital to his comfort. The nest bed really insulates too so is warm and well cushioned from the floor. This is due to its premium orthopaedic support. This support is also important for young dogs as it protects their joints.
The shape of the bed is perfect for long nosed/ necked whippets. The higher sides allow for real sink in calming- comfort but with the all important nose rest for keeping beady eyes on activity. Since having the bed, they have loved laying with their neck resting over the side watching the world go by. They also love resting their heads on the fur rests when snoozing. Pictured is the large bed which, as you can see in the photo, had plenty of space for 2 whippets stretching out. Owners of furry breeds may prefer the waterproof version of this bed, which can be more easily wiped down and even popped outside in the warmer months.
Luxury dog blankets:
Our whippys are blanket connoisseurs. The Ralph & Co luxury blanket is amazing! It has super deep faux fur. it is very soft and heavy, so almost has a sense of a weighted blanket to it. Its nice and big for sharing though I am sure we may need a second one sometime soon! The blanket is reversible so we can have it looking stylish on our chair, but then flip it over to the fur side during whippet slave service.
