How do I care for an elderly whippet?

What can I do if I am going away and my whippet cant come?
Having a dog requires some careful planning if you are going on holiday. There are loads of great dog friendly places to stay. If you are not able to take your dog, take time to find some trusted dog care well in advance of your holiday.
Help with whippet behaviour:
Whippets are fast moving energy bundles. They can also be reluctant walkers ! If you have difficulties with your whippets behaviour, speak with your vet or a recommended dog trainer. Be careful only to use a trainer who uses positive reinforcement. Toileting accidents? Refer to your vet for any changes in your dogs normal behaviour.

How can I keep my whippet safe during holiday times?
Celebrations like Christmas and Fireworks night can be tricky for our whippety family. Try to give them company and reassurance, whilst having the chance for some peace and quiet if they need it. At Christmas time, also consider their safety around food and gifts.
